in said city, shall be named in and made defendants

voters and poll-book, or in the poll-book of such

 

election district or election precinct then in the cus-

 

tody of such clerk or officer of registration, and

 

shall order the said officer of registration to enter

 

the proper name and residence of such petitioner

 

in the proper poll-book of such election district or

 

election precinct which may then be in the custody

 

of the sheriff of his county, or may then be in the

 

custody of the Board of Police Commissioners for the
