Chapter 135.

 

AN ACT to amend the first section of an act passed

 

at the present session of this General Assembly,

 

entitled "An Act to provide for the Uniform Regis-

 

tration of the names of all the qualified voters in

 

this State, by adding thereto a sub-section, to be

 

designated as sub-section 1A, specifically pro-

 

viding for the appointment of officers of registra-

 

tion in the counties of this State after the year

 

eighteen hundred and eighty-three."

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

 

bly of Maryland, That the first section of this act,

 

passed at the present session of this General Assem-

 

bly, entitled " An Act to provide for the Uniform

Sub-section
added.

Registration of the names of all the qualified voters

 

in this State," be amended by adding thereto the

 

following sub-section, to be designated as sub-sec-

 

tion 1A:

 

SUB-SEC. 1A. At each regular session of the Gen-

 

eral Assembly, to be held in every second year after

 

the present session thereof, the Governor shall also

 

nominate and, by and with the advice and consent

Appoint, officer

of the Senate, appoint one capable person in each

of registration

election district of every county in this State, who

 

shall be a voter and resident in the election district

 

for which he shall be appointed, to be an officer of

 

registration for the said election district.
