AN ACT to repeal section ten of chapter seventy
|
 
|
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, passed at the January session, eighteen
|
 
|
hundred and seventy-eight, entitled " An Act to
|
 
|
define and preserve the Inner Harbor of Cam-
|
 
|
bridge, and Cambridge creek, in Dorchester
|
 
|
county.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
 
|
bly of Maryland, That section ten of chapter
|
 
|
seventy of the Acts of the General Assembly of
|
Repealed and

Maryland, passed at the January session, eighteen
|
re-enacted.
|
hundred and seventy-eight, be and the same is

hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as
|
 
|
follows :
|
 
|
SECTION 10. And be it enacted, That on or before
|
 
|
the fourth day of January, eighteen hundred and
|
 
|
eighty-three, the County Commissioners of Dor-
|
 
|
chester county shall appoint some suitable person
|

as harbor master, who may also be the keeper of
any draw in any bridge over Cambridge creek, to
|
 
|
serve for one year; but nothing herein shall be
|
 
|
construed so as to require the said harbor master
|
 
|
and keeper of the draw to be one and the same
|
 
|
person; and they shall make a like appointment
|
 
|
annually thereafter, the incumbent for each year to
|
 
|
hold over until his successor is appointed, and in
|
 
|
addition to the duties of harbor master, as pre-
|
 
|
scribed in section nine, he shall order that no steamer
|
 
|
shall enter or leave the harbor at a greater speed
|
 
|
than five knots per hour, and in this order the har-
|

disregarding this order shall be deemed guilty of a
