Chapter 115.

AN ACT to give and declare the sanction and con-
|
 
|
sent of the General Assembly of Maryland to the
|
 
|
devise and bequest of Lewis Merryman, late of
|
 
|
Baltimore county, deceased, to the Trustees of the
|
 
|
Methodist Episcopal Church, commonly called
|
 
|
and known as the Govanstown Methodist Episco-
|
 
|
pal Church, and to the Trustees of the Metho-
|
 
|
dist Episcopal Church located in Waverly, both
|
 
|
of said churches being in Baltimore county.
|
 
|
WHEREAS Lewis Merryman, late of Baltimore
|
 
|
county, deceased, by his will and testament duly
|
 
|
admitted to probate by the Orphans' Court of Balti-
|
 
|
more county on the twenty-sixth day of April, A. D.
|
 
|
eighteen hundred and eighty-one, and duly recorded
|
 
|
in the office of the Register of Wills for Baltimore
|
 
|
county, in "Wills," liber J. B. M., number six, folio
|
 
|
two hundred and fifty-eight, etc., among other things
|
 
|
and bequests and devises, willed, bequeathed and
|

|
devised as follows, to wit : " I give and bequeath to
|
 
|
the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church,
commonly called and known as the Govanstown
|
 
|
Methodist Church, and also the Trustees of the
|
 
|
Methodist Episcopal Church located in Waverly,
|
 
|
both churches being in Baltimore county, two thou-
|
 
|
sand dollars, to be equally divided between the trus-
|
 
|
tees of the two aforenamed churches, who shall
|
 
|
invest in some safe and productive securities these
|
 
|
legacies, the interest whereof is to be applied forever
|
 
|
to the use of the aforenamed churches; these lega-
|
 
|
cies to be paid after the decease of my wife Ellen
|
 
|
W. Merryman;" therefore —
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
 
|
bly of Maryland, That the sanction and consent of
|
 
|
the General Assembly of Maryland be and the same
|
 
|
is hereby given, granted, and declared to the afore-
|
 
|
said devise and bequest, devises and bequests of
|
