LAWS OF MARYLAND OF 1937
MARYLAND, Sct.:
At an Extraordinary Session of the General Assembly of
Maryland, begun and held in the City of Annapolis,
on the Twenty-second day of April, 1937, and ending
on the Sixth day of May, 1937, inclusive, the Honorable
Harry W. Nice, being Governor of the State, the
following laws were enacted, to wit:
CHAPTER 1.
AN ACT making an emergency appropriation for the payment
of the expenses of the General Assembly of Maryland for the
extraordinary session of nineteen hundred and thirty-seven.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50, 000. 00),
or so much thereof as may be necessary, be, and the same is
hereby appropriated for the payment of the officers, employees
and members of the General Assembly of Maryland of the
extraordinary session of nineteen hundred and thirty-seven,
including mileage, printing, binding and miscellaneous ex-
penses. The above appropriation is hereby declared to be an
emergency appropriation within the provisions of Paragraph 4
of Sub-section D of Section 52 of Article 3, title "Legislative
Department", of the Constitution of the State, the said dis-
bursements to be made out of the appropriation authorized by
Section 13 of Chapter 515 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1937.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Treasurer of the
State shall, upon the warrant of the Comptroller, disburse the
said sums of money herein appropriated for the objects and
purposes herein specified, to or upon the order of the person
or persons entitled to receive the same.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public safety, and, being passed upon
a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the mem-
bers elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
