lists of defective rents from the year 1745. It has 38
pages. Entries in all these volumes are arranged alpha-
betically by names of rent-payers.
Liber 38—Debt Books 1758-1763-1765-1766-1767-1769-1775 Queen
Anne's County. Seven books covering the above-men-
tioned years, bound together, each containing entries
as above. The 1758 debt book has 79 pages; 1763 has
80 pages; 1765 has 68 pages; 1766 has 124 pages; 1767
has 77 pages; 1769 has 68 pages; 1775 has 44 pages.
The entries in all these books are arranged alphabeti-
cally by names of rent-payers.
Liber 39—Debt Books 1758-1754-1755-1756-1757-1758 Saint Mary's
County. Six books bound together, each containing
entries as above. The debt book for 1753 has 49 pages;
1754, 1755 and 1756 each have 50 pages and part of an
index; 1757 has 51 pages; 1758 has 49 pages. No alpha-
betical arrangement.
Liber 40—Debt Books 1759, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66 Saint Mary's
County. Eight small books bound together, each con-
taining entries as above. The 1759 debt book has 42
pages and an additional rent-roll list of entries; 1760
has 47 pages; 1761 has 53 pages; 1762 has 50 pages;
1763 has 47 pages; 1764 has 45 pages; 1765 and 1766
each have 45 pages. No alphabetical arrangement.
Liber 41—Debt Books 1767-74 Saint Mary's County. Seven books
for the above-mentioned years except 1772, bound to-
gether, containing entries as above. The 1767 debt book
has 42 pages, 1768 has 30 pages, 1769 has 31 pages, 1770
has 44 pages, 1771 has 39 pages, 1773 has 55 pages, 1774
has 58 pages. No alphabetical arrangement.
Liber 42—Debt Books 1733-34 Somerset County. Two books
bound together, each containing entries as above. The
debt book for 1733 has 217 pages, 1734 has 132 pages.
Though the latter is labelled 1734, comparison with the
rent roll would seem to date it after 1736. No alpha-
betical arrangement.
Liber 43—Debt Books 1735-48 Somerset County. Three books,
for the years 1735, 1745 and 1748, bound together, each
containing entries as above. The debt book for 1735 has
196 regularly numbered pages plus some 12 additional
pages of entries including pages numbered as high as
249. It also has part of an index. The debt book for
1745 has 206 pages, 1748 has 232 pages. No alphabetical
arrangement.
