The Committee appointed to wait upon the Governor re-
ported that they had performed that duty, and that his Ex-
cellency had nothing to communicate at presant, but, that in
all probability he would make a communication before the
final adjournment.

The President announced the special order of business to be
the following bills:

House bill in relation to the House of Refuge.
Mr. Bannon submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 1, line 5, strike out "State of .Maryland and its
agents," and insert "the present control."
