NEGATIVE—Mr, Humphreys—1.

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.
House bill entitled an Act to change the name of the Dis-
trict of Columbia, Upper Marlboro', and Hill's Landing
Turnpike Company, to that of the District of Columbia and
Upper Marlboro' Turnpike Company,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.
Messrs. President, Lee,

Bannon, Lawrence,
Brewer, Mudd,
Cooper, Newcomer,
Duke, Phelps,
Dennis, Stevens,
Freeman, Steiner,

NEGATIVE—None.

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.
House bill entitled an Act granting to certain soldiers and
widows of soldiers of the war of 1812, a pension of eighty
dollars per annum, to be paid in quarterly instalments,
Being upon its third reading,
Mr. Joyce submitted the following amendment :

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

"Insert the name of Adeline F. Hays, widow of John
Hays, of the war of 1812.
Which was adopted.

Mr. Brewer moved to indefinitely postpone the further con-
sideration of said bill.

Which was determined in the negative by yeas and nays
as follows:
