On motion by Mr. Stevens,

The rules were suspended so as so take up

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the appointment
of State Inspectors of Oils and Fluids used for illuminating
purposes, in this State, and for a Board of Directors upon the
inspection of illuminating oils and fluids,

Being upon its third reading,
On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Was recommitted to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

Mr. Walsh, from the Committee on Finance, (by unani-
mous consent,) reported favorably, the following bills:

First. House bill entitled an Act to repeal ch. 439 of the
Acts of 1874. in so far as the same relates to Harford county,
and to enact the following in lieu thereof, to apply to Har-
ford county,

With the following proposed amendments :
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In line 5, Sec. 2. strike out the word "twelve," and insert
the word "six."

In lines 5 and 6, Sec. 2, strike out the words "one and a
half," and insert the word "three."

In lines 9 and 10 of Sec. 2, strike out the words "one thou-
sand," and insert the words "five hundred."

In lines 10 and 11 of Sec. 5, strike out the words "one and
a half," and insert the word "three."

Strike out all of Sec. 8, after the word "enquire," in line 3,
and insert the words "into, and present and indict all per-
sons violating any provisions of this Act, and of the license
laws of this State, relating to the sale of spirituous and fer-
mented liquors and lager beer, and upon conviction, in addi-
tion to any penalties inflicted by said laws, it shall be the
duty of the Court, before whom such person shall be con-
victed, to suppress his license, and the provisions of this Sec-
tion shall also apply to any person or persons convicted of
keeping a disorderly house, who may have taken out an or-
dinary or oyster house license, or who shall not have on the
premises immediately occupied by the person taking out said
license, the accommodation for both man and beast, required
by the provisions contained in Art. 56, of the Public General
Laws. And for the period of one year after such suppression,
no license to sell spirituous or fermented liquors or lager
beer, shall be granted to the person so convicted, or to any
person for the use or benefit, directly or indirectly, of such
convict, and no license shall be granted to any one to sell
spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer, on the premises
