Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendments:

AMENMENTS PROPOSED.
Fill the blank with "fifteen hundred,"
Which was adopted.

By Mr. Stevens,
Strike ont the "4th Section."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Steiner submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PEOPOSED.

Section 1, line 3. strike out the word "persons," and in-
sert "Chemists."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Dennis submitted the following amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED .

Amend bill No: 102, by striking ont "Section 2 and Sec-
tiox 3" and inserting in lieu thereof, the following:

Section 2. And be it enacted, That the said Inspectors be-
fore entering upon the discharge of the dutea of their office,
shall give bond to the State of Maryland, in the sum of
$5,000, with good and sufficient security, to be approved by
the Governor, conditioned for the faithful performance of the
duties imposed by the provisions of this Act, which bond
shall be liable to be put in suit and for all damages for the
breach of any of the provisions thereof, ami shall be record-
ed in the Clerk's office of the Circuit Court of the county,
or the Superior Court of the City of Baltimore as the case
may be, and the and Inspector shall be allowed to charge and
receive the sum of ten cents for each and every barrel of oil
or fluid as aforesaid, to be paid by the purchaser thereof, and
the said Inspectors shall each of them be paid the sum of
———— hundred dollars as annual salary commencing from
the date of their appointment and qualification, the said sal-
ary to be paid out of the fees paid, and received for the in-
spection aforesaid."

Sac. 3. And be it enacted, That said inspectors and each of
them shall keep an accurate account in a book to be kept by
them for that purpose, of the number of barrels of oil or fluid
inspected by them as aforesaid, and the amount of fees re-
ceived by them und each of them as aforesaid, and shall re-
turn an account of the same, verified by oath or affirmation,
quarterly, to the Comptroller, and upon such return the
Comptroller shall be authorized, and he it hereby directed,
to allow to each of said inspectors the proportionate amount
