Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and de-
livered the following bills:

House bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 46, of the
Acts of 1874, relating to fencing in Worcester county, so far
as the same relates to the First Eltction District, und to en-
act the following in lieu thereof.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Ay-
delotte, Dennis and Humphreys.

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay Christian H. Walker, of Harford county, money for
taxes erroneously paid by him into the Treasury of the
State.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

House bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
County Commissioners of Frederick county to fund certain
indebtedness of the Board of County School Commissioners
of Frederick county, by issuing bonds therefor, and to levy
a tax for the payment of the same

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs.
Steiner, Humphreys and Dennis.

Also, returned.

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 37, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Evidence," by adding
thereto certain additional Sections under the sub-title "Sen-
ate and House of Delegates," giving power to certain officers
and persons in the Senate and House of Delegates of this
State, to administer oaths to witnesses, and to compel the
giving of testimony and production of evidence in certain
cases.

Endorsed, "Considered, and enacting clause stricken out."

Also, returned.

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the payment of a
gum of money to I. Nevitt Steele, Philip F. Thomas and S.
Teackle Wallis, for professional services rendered the State
in the prosecution of its claims against the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays,"
Also, delivered,

House Joint Resolutions in relation to the Harbor of An-
napolis.

Which were read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on federal Relations.
