St. Mary'd county, for services rendered in the arrest of vio-
lators of the Fishery Law of this State.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Lloyd, from the Committee on Finance, reported unfa-
vorably on the following memorials:

Memorial of 25 citizens of Talbot county, asking for an
exemption of $500, in the execution of the law on personal
property.

Memorial of Wilson, Barns & C., Otho W. Eichelberger,
Thomas Whittridge, and numerous other citizens of the City
of Baltimore, praying the State to purchase the property of
the Inebriate Asylum.

Which reports were adopted.

Mr. Lloyd, from the Committee on Finance, reported back
to the Senate the memorial of Anderson & Bouic, praying
that Section 107 of chapter 483 of the Acts of 1874, in rela-
tion to "Revenue and Taxes," be amended.
On motion by Mr. Lloyd,

The Committee on Finance was discharged from the fur-
ther consideration of said memorial, and,
On motion by Mr. Lloyd,

Said memorial was referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Getty, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act regulating the working and
proper ventilation of coal mines in Allegany and Garrett
counties, and providing for the appointment of an Inspector
for said mines.

With the following proposed amendments :
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 2, line 3, after the word "of," strike out "twen-
ty," and insert "thirty."

Section 4, line 28, after the word "as," strike out "they
may think proper," and insert ''the Courts may determine."

Section 6, strike all after the word "mine," in line 5, and
insert "which shall be kept at the office of the Company or
individuals so mining, and shall be at all times accessible to
the said inspection for reference only."

Strike out Section 9, and insert the following for Section 9:

"Section 9. And be it enacted, That the owner or agent of
every mine in operation in the said counties of Allegany or
Garrett, shall furnish at their own expense all props and all
the requisite timber that may be used in the working of said
