this law shall be taken or held to authorize or justify any
trespass or injury done to the lands or crops of any owner or
possessor thereof, by the entry or intrusion thereon of any
live stock of any other person, or to bar the recovery of dam-
ages therefor as now allowed by law."

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time .

Mr. Gorman, from the Committee on Finance, reported fa-
vorably,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Comptroller to
refund to Edgar Plummer, Hiram G. Dudley, David Riley,
H. D. M. Howard, L G. Graves, Charles R. Hamilton. Wil-
liam Hoffman and J. H. Marshall, the sum of forty dollars
each, erroneously paid into the Treasury.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on'Judicial Proceedings,
reported,

House bill entitled an Act to amend Section 2, of chapter
477, of the Acts of 1870, under the head of "Prince George's
county," by adding the name of Elizabeth Ryou, widow of
Thomas Ryon, in the place of Mrs. Prior, the widow of
Thomas Prior, which is an error in the engrossment of said
Act.

Being upon its second reading,
On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Said bill was referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Also, by Mr. Stevens,

House bill entitled an Act to make valid the Acts of the
Commissioners appointed by the Act of 1840, chapter 219,
and to confirm the proceedings of said Commissioners.

Being upon its second reading,
On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Said bill was referred to the Committee on Invalid Deeds
and Defective Proceedings.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably,

House bill entitled a supplement to the Acts incorporating
the Western Maryland Railroad Company, and conferring
new power on said Company.

With the following amendments:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Strike out all after the enacting clause, and insert the fol-
lowing:
