On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Was ordered to be re-printed as amended.

Senate bill entitled an Act to change the provisions of Sec-
tions 1 and 3, of the Constitution of Maryland, title "City of
Baltimore,"

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act, passed at the
January Session, 1870, entitled an Act to change the provi-
sions of Section 1, Article 11, of the Constitution of the State,
title "Baltimore city," relating to the term of office of the
Mayor of said city, as provided in and by Section 9 of said
Article.

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for

-a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for cleaning out the
harbor and basin, and docks of the City of Baltimore, and for
the permanent removal of the causes, whereby the waters of
the said harbor and basin have been polluted; and to autho-
rize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to issue bonds
to the amount of $1,000,000, to defray the expenses of said
work.

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 2, lines 5 and 6, strike out the words, "at the rate
of per annum," and after the word "payment," in line 5,
insert "as may be determined by the Mayor of said city."

Section 6, line 7, fill the blank with the word "forty."

Pending the consideration of the amendments,

Mr. Dennis submitted the following:

Amend the first amendment by inserting after the word

"Mayor," "and City Council."

Which was adopted.

The question recurring upon the adoption of the amend-
ment of Mr. Stevens as amended,

It was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 37, of Article
75, Code of Public General Laws, title "Pleading, Practice

and Process," sub-title "Practice," and to re-enact; the same
with amendments,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as.
