County Commissioners of Queen Anne's county, to levy a
sum of money or issue bonds for repairing and altering the
Court House in said county, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Mr. Phelps, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 2, of chapter
99, of the Acts of 1874, and to re-enact'the same with amend-
ments.

Which was read the first time.

Senate bill entitled an Act to refund to Alicia Winder, of
Talbot county, State taxes erroneously paid into the Treasury
for the years 1867 to 1870, inclusive, and also to authorize
the County Commissioners for said county, to refund county
taxes erroneously paid.

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act for the protection of deer in
Garrett county,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to refund to the vestry of Saint
Michael's Parish, Talbot county, a sum of money erroneously
paid into the Treasury,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to increase the number of free
scholarships in the Baltimore Female College, providing for
one free scholarship from Garrett county.
Being upou its second reading,
On motion by Mr. Bannon,
Was ordered to lie over.
On motion by Mr. Joyce, (by unanimous consent,) it was

Ordered, That the Special Committee appointed by the
Senate to investigate alleged abuses in the administration of
the office of State Weigher of Live Stock, be empowered to
administer affidavits, under which witnesses summoned be-
fore that Committee shall testily.

On motion by Mr. Gorman,
The rules were suspended so as to take up
Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for making a survey
of Allegany and Garrett counties, and taking a vote of the
people for or against a new county in certain districts of said
