Senate bill entitled an Act to regulate the sale of fire-wood
in the City of Baltimore for the better protection of the pro-
dace, dealer and consumer,

Being upon a third reading,

Mr. Cooper, (by unanimous consent,) submitted the fol-
lowing amendments :

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In line 7, Section 1, printed bill, strike out the word
"they" and insert "he."

In line 8, strike out the word "Inspector" and insert
"Measurer."

In line 13, strike out the word "Inspector or."

In line 1, Section 2, strike out the words, "or Inspectors."

In line 6, Section 2, strike out the words, "Inspector and."

In line 7, Section 2, strike out "Ordinance," insert "Act."

In line 1, Section 3, strike out word "Inspector" and in-
sert the word "Measurer."

In line 3, Section 3, strike out "Inspectors" and insert
"Measurer."

In line 2, Section 5, strike out the words, "then one of the
Inspectors or," and insert the word "the."

In line 8, Section 5, strike out the word "Inspector" and
insert the words "Measurer or Deputy."

In line 9, Section 5, strike out all the words after "lot"
and insert the following, "that all Acts inconsistent with the
provisions of this Act, be and the same are hereby repealed."

Strike out "Section 6."

Which were adopted.

Said bill as amended was then read the second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The Hon. R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, appeared
and delivered a communication from the Executive.

At 2.10 o'clock P. M., Mr. Knight moved a call of the Sen-
ate. The Sergeant-at-Arms was directed to inform the ab-
sent Senatdrs that their presence was required in the Senate
Chamber.

At 2.20 P. M.,

On motion by Mr. Knight,

Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

Senate bill entitled an Act granting additional powers to
the Potomac Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows :
