Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.
The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliver-
ed the following message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

February 3rd, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We propose with the concurrence of your Honorable Body
to appoint a Joint Committee of two on the part of the
Senate and three on the part of the House, to notify General
James R. Herbert of his election as Polios Commissioner.

We have named on the part of the House, Messrs. La-
motte, Rusk and Baldwin.

Which was read.

House bill entitled an Act to extend the charter of the
Grand Division of the State of Maryland of the Order of
the Sons of Temperance, passed at December Session, 1845,
