TUESDAY, February 1st, 1876.

Senate met at 12 M.

Prayer by the Rev. Father gehwartz.

Present at roll-call the following Senators:

Messrs. President, Aydelotte, Bannon, Brewer, Copper,
Duke, Dennis, Freeman, Ford, Getty, Gorman, Hepbron,
Humphreys, Joyce, Knight, Lee, Lawrence, McCulloh, Mudd,
Newcomer, Stevens, Steiner, Suit, Walsh—24.

Proceedings of yesterday read and approved.

Mr. Bannois presented the memorial of J. B. Rnbinson and
others, praying the passage of an Act to make Light Street
Bridge free of tolls.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Bannon, Cooper,
Stevens and Joyce.

Mr. Steiner presented the memorial of D. W. Eley, God-
frey Koontz and 66 others, citizens of Frederick city, pray-
ing the General Assembly not to repeal the Law exempting
one hundred dollars of wages from attachment.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings.

Mr. Walsh presented the memorial of David S. Gittings
and others, citizens of Baltimore and Harford counties, ask-
ing for the removal of the Eastern Hay Scales, in the City of
Baltimore, to a safer and more accessible location.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Walsh, Cooper,
Stevens and Joyce.

Mr. Duke presented the memorial of L. L. Chaney and 30
others, citizens of Calvert county, against the passage of the
bill now before the General Assembly, prohibiting the sale
of spirituous and fermented liquors in the vicinity of Smith-
ville, in Calvert county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

Mr. Freeman presented the memorial of W. Seemuller and
12 others, praying the passage of an Act to prohibit stock
from running at large within 15 miles of the City of Balti-
more.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ag-
riculture,
