STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, April 21, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland :

I nominate Peter Cain as Inspector of Coal Mines in Alle-
gany and Garrett counties.

JOHN LEE CARROLL.

On motion by Mr. McCulloh,

The aforegoing nomination was referred to the Committee
on Executive Nominations.

Mr. Walsh, from the Committee on Executive Nomina-
tions, to which was referred the nomination of Peter Cain as
Inspector of Coal Mines in Allegany and Garrett counties,
reported said nomination ought to be confirmed.

Whereupon,
On motion by Mr. Getty,

The Senate advised and consented to said nomination by
yeas and nays as follows :
