MONDAY, April 3, 1876.

The following communication, which had been received
from his Excellency, Governor Carroll, by the hands of R. C.
Hollyday, Esq., was read :

STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, April 3, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland:

I have the- honor to nominate J. J. Turner, J. T. Ross
and James A. Bruce as the Board of Supervisors of Elections
in Baltimore City.

JOHN LEE CARROLL.
On motion by Mr. Cooper,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointments.

On motion by Mr. Knight,

The Senate advised and consented to the appointment of
Samuel H. Smith as Justice of the Peace for the 6th district
ol Cecil county.

On motion by Mr. Brewer,

The Senate refused to advise and consent to the appoint-
ment of Michael J. Brown as Justice of the Peace for the 5th
district of Montgomery county.
On motion by Mr. Walsh,
The Senate removed the injunction of secresy.

On motion by Mr. Cooper,

The Senate resumed the consideratioa of Legislative busi-
ness.

After which, on the 3rd day of April, 1876, the Senate
adjourned sine die.
