The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointments.

STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, Feb. 23, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland :

I have the honor to make the following nominations of
Managers of the House of Refuge :

John T. Morris,
Samuel I. Smith,
James Pentland,
J. Robert Ward, M. D.

JOHN LEE CARROLL.
On motion by Mr. Joyce,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointments.

On motion by Mr. Getty,

The Senate advised and consented to the appointments for
Garrett county, (except the nomination of Isaac Gumbel and
A. C. Good, as Justices of the Peace for the 2nd and 7th dis-
tricts, which were ordered to lie over.)
On motion by Mr. Steiner,

The Senate resumed the consideration of Legislative busi-
ness.
