It will be seen that at the rate of State tax far years past,
if the whole capital stock of the Company in the hands of
private owners were subject to taxation, the amount received
by the State at par valuations, would be less than the sum
proposed to be paid by the above adjustment.
And your memorialist will ever pray, etc,

tem., during the sickness of M. Y. Kidd, Esq., and that W.
P. Peter, Esq., of Howard county, the present Journal
Clerk, be appointed Reading Clerk pro tem
Mr. Albaugh proposed the following message to the Sen-
ate:
BY THE HOUSE OB DELEGATES,
March 9th, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate :
We respectfully inform you that we have elected Wm. H.
Cole, Acting Chief Clerk, during the illness of M. Y. Kidd,
Chief Clerk of the House.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Snowden,
Ordered, That the Engrossing Clerk continue to act as
Journal Clerk.
On motion of Mr. Stewart,
Ordered, That the Committee on Claims be authorized to
pay the charges of the nurse in attendance on Mr, Hawkins,
during his illness.
