der Section 25, of Article 3, of the Constitution, was received,
but the action of your Honorable Body was anticipated by
the adaption of a resolution offered by the Hon. Senator from
Queen Anne's county, in reference to the subject of the mes-
sage, by referring it to the consideration of the said Joint
Standing Committee above mentioned.

The bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to-
pay the claims of various editors of newspapers in the State
of Maryland, for publishing the Act, entitled an Act, to
amend Section 8, of Article 4, of the Constitution of the State
of Maryland, passed at January Session, 1874, authorized
and ordered by the Governor under the provisions of Section
1, Article 14, of the Constitution, and proclamation of the
Governor announcing the'adoption of the amendment by the
people,
Was read the first time and referred to the Committee OB
Claims.
Also,
The bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 27, of Article 10,
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to attachments
and to re-enact the same with amendments,
Was read a first time and referred to the Committee on
the Judiciary.
Also,
The bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed at the
Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, in 1874, chap-
ter 421, entitled an Act to repeal Section 2, of Article 41, of
the Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Fish and Fish-
eries," and to re-enact the same with amendments and to
substitute the following in lieu thereof.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Select
Committee on Fisheries.
Also,
The bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 81, of Article 14
of the Code pt Public Local Laws, title "Kent county," sub-
title "County Commissioners," and to amend and re-enact
the same with amendments, and to add a sub section thereto
and to provide for the appointment of two County Commis-
sioners by the Governor to serve until the next geoeral elec-
tion,
Was read a first time and referred to Messrs. Boyer, Usil-
ton and Dodson.
