FRIDAY, February 18th, 1876.
The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Amos.
Present at the call of the roll the following members :
Messrs. Smith, (Speaker,) Dunbar, Mattintrly, Boyer,
Usilton, Hodges, Robinson, Rullman, Bird, Lancaster, Haw-
kins, Hooper, Baldwin, Whitelock, Curtis, Smith, or Balti-
more co., Given, Fitzjatrell, Dodson, Lankford, Gmiby,
Ford, Lambdin, Smith, of Dor., Waters, of Dor , Biis oe, Con-
stable, Ward, Snowden, H ance, Gwynn, Cockey, Nenl Pur-
cell, Onley, Hinks, Naill, Koons, Rutledge, Bnyle Vandiver,
Culbreth, Goldsborough, Rusk, Berkemeier, Lewis. McWil-
liams, Hoblitzell, McGlone, Coburn, Stewart. McAleese, Gill,
Hart, Loane, Chaisty, Hess, Harig, Albangh, Samers, Fen-
ion, Scott, Farrow, Ranger, Jones, Canby, Griffith, Rawl-
ings, Atkinson, Sprigg, Brooke, Brown, Rinehart, Lamotte,
Waters, of Car'l., Donaldson, Clark, Barnard, Brown-
fag— 79.
The following bills having passed both branches of the
General Assembly, were this day presented to His Excel-
lency, the Governor, for his approval:
No. 24. An Act to incorporate the Ocean City Bridge
Company.
No. 25. An Act entitled a further supplement to in Act
passed at December Session, 1825, entitled an Act to incor-
porate the President and Directors of the Fireman's Insur-
ance Company of Baltimore and the seveial supplements
thereto.
No 27. An Act to amend an Act to incorporate the Safe
Deposit Company of Baltimore, chapter 242, of the Acts of
the General Assembly, of 1864, and the Acts amendatory
thereof, being chapter 82, of 1867, and chapter 394, of 1868,
and to change the came of paid corporation to the Safe De-
posit and Trust Company of Baltimore.
The Speaker announced the following Select Committee on
Temperance, appointed under the order submitted by Mr.
Lancaster on the 16th inst.;
Messrs. Lancaster, Lewis, Boyer, Robinson, Hess, Brooke,
and Smith, of Dorchester.
On motion of Mr. Neal,
The House proceeded to the consideration of the special or-
der of the day,
