On motif n of Mr. Ranger, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Farrow be excused for absence from
this House yesterday, on account of sickness.
On motion of Mr Smith, of Dorchester, it waa
Ordered, That the Committee an the Chesapeake Bay and
its Tributaries, be instructed to enquire into the expediency
of selling the Oyster Police Steamer "Lelia," and sub-
stituting therefor a fast sailing clipper built schooner:
Also, into the expediency of reducing oyster dredging
licenses from three dollars per ton, the present rate, to two
dollais per ton, and that they report by bill or otherwise.
On motion of Mr. Griffith,
Leave was granted to the Montgomery delegation to
amend Article 15th, of the Code of Public Local Laws for
Montgomery county, by adding an additional Section thereto,
in relation to the payment of jururs and State witnesses.
On motion of Mr. Bribcoe,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to refund Horatio J. Sheppard, certain in moneys
erroneously paid into the Treasury.
On motion of Mr Scott,
Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to add additional Section
to Article 21. of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled
"Washington Comity," sub-title "Hagerstown," to be
known as Section 143—a.
On motion of Mr. Hinks,
Leave was granted to the Frederick delegation to introduce
