On motion of Mr. Vandiver,
Leave was granted to the Harford delegation, to introduce a
bill to authorize the County Commissioners of Harford county,
to iund the indebtedness of the Board of County School Com-
missioners of Harford county, to issue bonds therefor, and
levy tax for the payment of the same.
On motion of Mr. Baldwin,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Baltimore County Gas-
light Company.
The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day, the House proceeded to the consideration of the bill en-
titled an Act to repeal Sections 619, 620, 625, 626, 927 and
628, of Article 4, of the Public Local Laws, title "City of
Baltimore," sub-title "Justices of the Peace, and Consta-
bles," and to re-enact certain Sections in lieu of the Sections
so repealed.
Said bill being upon a second reading,
Mr. McGlone submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 619, line 2, strike out from the word "six," to the
word "City," in 3d line of said Section, and insert in lieu
thereof the following: "Twenty Justices of the Peace, one
for each of the Wards of Baltimore city.

Mr. Stewart submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 619, line 2, after the word "appoint," strike out
the words "six Justices," and insert "one Justice."
