Said bill was then sent to the Senate.
The bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Wor-
cester Railroad Company, and its supplements,
Being upon a third reading,
Mr. Stewart, (by unanimous consent,) submitted the fol-
lowing amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Add to Section 2, the following:
Provided, however, that nothing contained in this Act shall
be of any effect or force in law, unless said company consents
that all property of said company shall be liable for State,
county and municipal taxation.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Goldsborough submitted the following amendment:

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and said

Mr. Lamotte submitted the following message:
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
Feb'y 3rd, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate ;
We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
to appoint a Joint Committee of two on the part of the Senate,
and three on the part of the House, to notify Gen. James R.
Herbert of his election as Police Commissioner.
