The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bill:
A bill entitled an Act to extend the building line in the
harbor of Crisfield, on the north side of the town of Crig-
field, into deeper water, so as to admit the erection of oyster
houses along the same.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Somerset
delegation.
The Speaker laid before the House the following communi-

H. D. Loney, Lieutenant Colonel commanding 5th Maryland
Regiment, inviting the members of the House of Delegates to
be present on the occasion of the Inspection of said Regiment
on Tuesday, 25th instant.

Was accepted with thanks.
Mr. Purnell presented the petition of T. H. Mumford, and
other citizens of Worcester county, asking the passage of a
law forbidding any seine to be hauled in the waters of said
county, exceeding one hundred fathoms in length.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Fisheries.
Mr. Waters presented the petition of 61 citizens of Carroll
county for Local Option.
Which was read and referred to the Committee OR Ways
and Means .
Mr. Hawkins presented the petition of the Orphans' Court
and members of the bar of Charles county, for the passage of
a law authorizing the Register of Wills of said county to
make a general index of all wills in bis office from the year
