BY THE SENATE,
April 1st, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:
As the present Section of the General Assembly will ter-
minate, by Constitutional limitation, on Monday, April 3rd,
midnight, we propose that a Joint Committee, to be composed
of two members of the Senate and three of the House, be
appointed to wait upon his Excellency, the Governor, for the
purpose of communicating this fact, and ascertaining whether
he has any further communication to make.
We have appointed on the part of the Senate Messrs. Lloyd
and Steiner.

Mr. Waters, of Carroll, submitted the following message :
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
April 3rd, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate :
We have received your message, proposing the appoint-
ment of a Joint Committee of two on the part of the Senate,
and three on the part of the House, to wait on his Excel-
lency, the Governor, and inform him that the two Houses
propose to adjourn on this (Monday) night, at 12 o'clock,
and ask him if he has any communication to make, and con-
cur therein.
We name on the part of the House Messrs, Waters, of Car-
rol, Gill and Lankford.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.
The Senate bill entitled an Act providing for a State sub-
scription to J. Thomas Scharf s History of Maryland,
Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as fol-
