The Senate bill entitled an Act to extend the jurisdiction
of Justices of the Peace for Garrett, Montgomery and Cal-
vert counties, to cases of assault and battery,
Was read a third time.

On motion of Mr. Donaldson, (the rules being suspended
by unanimous consent,) it was
Ordered, That the rules be suspended, and that upon the
call of the counties either local or general bills could be
taken up for consideration.
Mr. Loane, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
(the rules being suspended,) reported favorably,
The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Cumber-
land and Savage River Canal, Railroad and Slack-Water
Navigation Company.
Which was read a second time.
The Senate bill entitled an Act to prescribe the number of
names to be selected and placed in the box from which a
panel of jurors shall be drawn for Garrett county,
