The House met at 1 o'clock, P. M.
Present at the call of the roll the following members:

Onley, Riggs, Hinks, Naill, Rutledge, Vandiver, Culbreth,,
Goldsborough, Rusk, Berkemeier, Lewis, McGlone,McAleese,
Gill, Chaisty, Hess, Harig, Sanders, Fenton, Scott, Farrow,
Ranger, Jones, Canby, Griffith, Rawlings,Atkinson, Brown,

On motion of Mr. Brown, (by unanimous consent,) it
was
Ordered, That Mr. Hoblitzell be excused from further at-
tendance on this day's Session.
Mr. Mattingly, (the rules being suspended by unanimous
consent,) submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims,
pay to R. Johnson Colton, Sergeant-at- Arms, two hundred
dollars, ($200.00,) for extra services performed in summon-
ing witnesses before the several investigating Committees.
Which was read.
Mr. Browning, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably, with proposed amendment,
The Senate bill entitled an Act to form a new Election Dis-
trict out of portions of 3rd, 5th and 6th Election Districts of
Garrett county.
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out in Section 1, line 2, the name of "Joseph
Welsh,"and insert "William Browning, Sr." strikeout "Sec-
tions 5 and 6," and make "Section 7" ''Section 5."
Which was adopted.
And bill, as amended, was read a second time;
Also,
The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments, certain Sections of the Acts of 1872 and 1874,.
relating to the times for holding the terms of the Circuit
Court for Garrett county.
