Mr. Snowden submitted the following order :
Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
be instructed to pay the Committee Clerks of this House each
two hundred dollars, for the faithful performance of their
several duties.
Which was read.
Mr. Bird submitted the the following Resolution:
WHEREAS, It is believed that certain revenues properly be-
longing to the Tobacco Fund, have been irregularly diverted
from said fund, covered into the State Treasury, and used for
State purposes.
Therefore, Resolved, That the Attorney General of the State
be, and he is hereby, requested to ascertain, if any, and to
what extent this has been done, and report the same to the
next General Assembly of Maryland, and recommend such
legislation as may be necessary to save such revenues, if any,
to the Tobacco Fond.
Which was adapted.
Mr. Bird submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the Supervisor General of the Tobacco
Warehouses be, and he is hereby, directed to report to the
next General Assembly of Maryland, the number of hogs-
head of Maryland Tobacco annually inspected, from 1850 to
1877, inclusive, and the number of hogshead received and
inspected from other States' each year, for the same period,
and the cost of the inspection of the same.
