murrer, and if such demurrer is overruled, said affidavit of
defense shall be filed not more than twenty days after the
order of Court overruling such demurrer.
Notice shall be given at the bottom of the declaration and
in the summons in such cases where the plaintiff intends to
claim the benefits of this section.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 54.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 214
of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edi-
tion), title "Testamentary Law, " sub-title "Inventory and
List of Debts, " exempting Montgomery County from the pro-
visions of the section limiting the per diem of appraisers ap-
pointed by the Orphans' Court or Register of Wills.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 214 of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Testamentary Law, " sub-title
"Inventory and List of Debts, " be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:
214. Said appraisers shall receive a per diem of not more
than two dollars a day for the time they are actually engaged
in said appraisement, said per diem to be paid out of the
estate of the decedent after said appraisers have filed an item-
ized sworn account of the number of days they were actually
engaged in said appraisement with the Orphans' Court or
Register of Wills, as the case may be, and after said sworn
statement is approved by said court or register of wills, as
the case may be; provided, however, that nothing contained in
this section shall apply to the Orphans' Court or Register of
Wills of the City of Baltimore or Montgomery County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1. 1937.
