land by motor vehicle, unaccompanied by a certificate of
origin, or accompanied by a false, fraudulent or unauthorized
certificate, shall be deemed guilty of a violation of the pro-
visions of this section and shall be subject to a fine of not
more than five hundred dollars ($500) or imprisonment for
not more than six months or to both such fine and imprison-
ment.

46GG. Any violation of any of the provisions of this sub-
title except where a definite penalty is provided, shall upon
conviction be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred
dollars ($100) or by imprisonment for not more than thirty
(30) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if any provision of
this Act or the application thereof to any person or circum-
stances is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect any
other provision or application of the Act which can be given
effect without the invalid provision or application and to
this end the provisions of this Act and the application thereof
to any particular person or circumstances are declared to be
severable. It is particularly declared that if any provision of
this Act or any application thereof shall be held to be invalid
because of conflict with the Commerce Clause of the Constitu-
tion of the United States, the remaining provisions of the Act
or the application of any provision of the Act to any person
or circumstances not in conflict with said provision of the
Constitution of the United States, shall be upheld.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 350.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Calvert
County to issue coupon bonds to the extent of Forty-five
Thousand Dollars ($45, 000. 00) on the faith and credit of
said County for the construction of lateral roads in said
County, and to levy a tax on the assessable property of said
County to pay the interest on said bonds and to provide for
the redemption and/or purchase of said bonds out of road
and bridge construction funds allocated to or set aside for
use in Calvert County.

SECTION 1. Cf it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of raising the money necessary for
