Compensation", sub-title "Definitions", sub-title "Board of
Review"; creating an independent Board to administer the
Unemployment Compensation Act, and prescribing the terms
of office, compensation and duties of the members thereof.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (a) of Section 3 of Article 95A, title
"Unemployment Compensation", sub-title "Benefits", sub-title
"Payment of Benefits", be, and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
3. (a) PAYMENT OF BENEFITS. Twenty-four months after
the date when contributions first accrue under this Act, bene-
fits shall become payable from the fund. All benefits shall be
paid through re-employment offices, in accordance with such
regulations as the Board may prescribe.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Sub-section (e) of
Section 6 of Article 95A, title "Unemployment Compensation",
sub-title "Claims for Benefits, " sub-title "Board of Review", be,
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments to read as follows:
(e) BOARD OF REVIEW. The Board of Review may on its
own motion affirm, modify, or set aside any decision of an ap-
peal tribunal on the basis of the evidence previously submit-
ted in such case, or direct the taking of additional evidence, or
