CHAPTER 50.
AN ACT to repeal Chapter 415 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1935 and Chapter 231 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1931 and Sections 4, 5 and 6 of said Chapter
231 of the Acts of 1931 as the same were repealed and re-
enacted by Chapter 438 of the Acts of 1933, and Chapter
518 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1927, and to
constitute the County Commissioners of Prince George's
County the Police Commissioners of Prince George's County,
and to provide a new police system in said County, and to
authorize the establishment of a police fund to pay the ex-
penses thereof, to be created from certain fines, penalties
and forfeitures and by levy of the County Commissioners.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 415 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1935 and Chapter 231 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1931 and Sections 4, 5 and 6 of said Chapter 231 of the
Acts of 1931 as the same were repealed and re-enacted by
Chapter 438 of the Acts of 1933, and Chapter 518 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of 1927 be and the same are hereby
repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County shall ex officio consti-
tute the Police Commissioners for Prince George's County and
as such shall meet at least once in each and every month on
some day other than Tuesday and at such other times as may
in their judgment be necessary. They shall each receive an
additional sum of Two Hundred ($200. 00) Dollars per annum
for their services as such police commissioners, shall appoint
such additional clerical help as may in their discretion be
necessary to properly carry out their duties, shall be author-
ized when necessary to employ the services of a physician and
a stenographer and shall call upon their attorney for such
legal advice and legal services as they may need at such
additional compensation as they may in their judgment deter-
mine.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Police Commis-
sioners are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to ap-
point a number, not to exceed 18, of police officers for Prince
George's County, one of whom shall have full control and su-
pervision, except as otherwise provided in this Act, over the
members of said police force and shall be designated as "Super-
intendent" of the Prince George's County Police; and two of
whom shall be designated as "Sergeants" of the Prince
