office during the pleasure of the judges of said court, and shall
be paid a per diem of fifteen dollars ($15. 00) for each and
every day of actual service, payable by the County, as a part of
the court expenses, upon the presentation of the certificate of
the clerk, or of any of the judges of said court, showing the
attendance and services of said reporter.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 286.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 259
of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
1930, title "Prince George's County" sub-title "Constables, "
providing for the fees and compensation of constables in
Prince George's County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 259 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws of Maryland 1930, title "Prince George's County, "
sub-title "Constables, " be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted so as to read as follows:
259. Each Constable shall be paid the sum of Five ($5. 00)
Dollars per annum by the County Commissioners of Prince
George's County in full settlement of his services in all crimi-
nal cases, but the usual costs in such criminal cases prescribed
by law for the services of a constable shall be taxed and
charged against any person found guilty in such criminal cases
and such costs shall be at once transmitted and paid over by
the Justice of the Peace collecting the same to the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County for the use of the
police fund of said County. In civil cases before Justices of
the Peace, constables shall be allowed the usual fees and costs
prescribed by law and shall be entitled to collect and retain
such fees and costs for their services.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.
