ing been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date
of its passage.

CHAPTER 200.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners
of Montgomery County to borrow a sum not in excess of
Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80, 000. 00) and to issue and sell
bonds to evidence said borrowing, the proceeds to be used
for the purpose of making improvements to that portion of
the roadway in Montgomery County known as Connecticut
Avenue, which runs from the District of Columbia—State
of Maryland boundary line to Chevy Chase Lake in the
village of Chevy Chase; to authorize and empower the
County Commissioners of Montgomery County to acquire
either by condemnation or purchase any and all land and/or
rights of way necessary to said improvement, using as much
of the funds hereby authorized to be borrowed as may be
necessary for that purpose, and to authorize and empower
the County Commissioners of Montgomery County to levy
and collect a tax upon all the assessable property within the
corporate limits of said County in an amount sufficient TO
provide for the payment of the principal and interest on said
bonds as the same respectively become due.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose hereinafter specified and recited
the County Commissioners of Montgomery County are hereby
authorized and empowered to borrow upon the faith and cred-
it of said county, at one time, or from time to time, a sum
of money not to exceed Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80, 000. 00)
and to issue and sell at one time or from time to time its
coupon bonds therefor in the amount thereof to evidence such
borrowing, said bonds to bear such rate or rates of interest
not exceeding six per centum (6%) Per annum, payable semi-
annually, as may be determined upon by the Board of Coun-
ty Commissioners of Montgomery County. Said bonds may
be issued by the County Commissioners of Montgomery Coun-
ty at one time or from time to time and they may bear the
same date of issue or they may be issued in one or more Se-
ries, each Series having a different date of issue, and such of
said bonds as may he issued shall be signed by the President
