CHAPTER 170.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
805A of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington County", sub-
title "County Treasurer", as said section was enacted by
Chapter 539 of the Acts of 1933, to authorize the County
Treasurer to collect taxes levied by the Burgess and Com-
missioners of Funkstown and Hancock upon motor vehicles
owned by the residents of the towns of Funkstown and Han-
cock, and to make applicable to such taxes the rates of dis-
counts and interest charges presently in force or which may
hereafter be provided with, reference to the collection of
County taxes for said Washington County; to provide com-
pensation therefor and to further provide for adjustments
and releases by the Supervisor of Assessments of Washing-
ton County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 805A of Article 22 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County", sub-title "County Treasurer", as said section was
enacted by Chapter 539 of the Acts of 1933, be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

805A. The County Treasurer of Washington County is
hereby authorized, empowered and directed to collect all taxes
levied by the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown and by the
Burgess and Commissioners of Funkstown and Hancock upon
each and every motor vehicle owned by residents of the City
of Hagerstown and the towns of Funkstown and Hancock,
and it shall be the duty of the Mayor and Council of Hagers-
town and the Burgess and Commissioners of Funkstown and
Hancock to assess each and every such motor vehicle separately
and apart from the assessment on any other motor vehicle
or kind or class of assessable property, and the taxes assessed
on each such motor vehicle shall be payable separate and
apart from all other taxes, and the said the Mayor and
Council of Hagerstown and the Burgess and Commissioners
of Funkstown and Hancock shall certify to said County
Treasurer, the names of all residents of said City and towns
owning motor vehicles, the kind and character of such motor
vehicle, and the City or town rate applicable thereto; and
said taxes shall be subject to the same rates of discount
and interest charges as are presently provided or may here-
after be in force with reference to the collection of County
taxes for said Washington County. All collections made by
said County Treasurer pursuant to the provisions hereof shall
