landed at, shipped from, stored on or passed over the same; to
provide for the appointment of such officers and employees as
may be necessary to execute the aforegoing powers and to
impose fines or penalties for a breach of any ordinance passed
in conformity herewith, said fine not to exceed two hundred
dollars ($200) for any one offense. Provided, however, that
except in regard to docks or wharves owned by the Mayor and
Council of Salisbury, nothing contained in this sub-division of
this Charter shall be construed to impose any duty upon the
Mayor and Council of Salisbury to any person or corporation
using said river, or any of its tributaries, in regard to the
safety thereof, or to render the said Mayor and Council of
Salisbury liable for any loss of life, or injury or damage to
person or property, by reason of any obstruction in, or unsafe
condition of, any part of said river, or of said tributaries or
branches, or either of them. Nothing contained in this sub-
division of this Charter shall be so construed as to render the
City of Salisbury, or any of its officers, liable in damage or
otherwise to any person or persons, or corporations, for any
omissions to pass any ordinance, regulation or resolution pur-
suant to the provisions hereof, or for a failure to enforce the
same.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 102.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 55B
of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Dorchester County", sub-title "Cam-
bridge", as said section was enacted by Chapter 486 of the
Acts of 1931, increasing the compensation of the Police
Magistrate of Cambridge.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 55B of Article 10 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester
County", sub-title "Cambridge", as said section was enacted
by Chapter 486 of the Acts of 1931, be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:

55B. The Board of Town Commissioners of Cambridge shall
each and every year pay unto the Police Magistrate of Cam-
bridge, Dorchester County, Maryland, the sum of Six Hun-
