vision as to material and workmanship such work may be
done.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That the proceeds from
the sale of bonds aforesaid and the proceeds from sub-
scriptions as hereinbefore provided shall be paid to the County
Treasurer of Charles County, and shall be applied to the
erection, equipment and furnishing of a Hospital for Charles
County and such other expenses as the said Board have prop-
erly incurred in the discharge of its duty, and no part of the
proceeds of the said bonds shall be paid out by the said
Treasurer except upon the warrant of the said Board.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners shall allocate annually from its share of the funds
received from the licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages
in Charles County, a sum sufficient to pay the interest on said
bonds and to retire the One Thousand Dollars ($1, 000. 00) of
the principal becoming due each year. If, in any year, the
sum received from the licenses for the sale of alcoholic bever-
ages is insufficient to pay said interest and to retire said
principal, the said County Commissioners shall, for such year,
levy upon the assessable property of Charles County a suffi-
cient sum to make up such deficiency.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of
its passage.

CHAPTER 552.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments Section 200
of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924
Edition), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 18.
Schools for Colored Children", making the school term the
same for colored children as for white children.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
