406BC. (Detective Bureau.) (a) There is hereby established
and created within the Anne Arundel County Police Depart-
ment a Detective Bureau.
(b) The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed
to make all necessary rules and regulations therefor and from
time to time change or amend such rules and regulations as
may be required to equip and maintain an efficient Detective
Bureau.
(c) The Chief of Police shall assign not more than five mem-
bers of the police force to serve as members of the Detective
Bureau, and from time to time may re-assign the said member
or members back to duty with the regular police force and
may designate other members of the police force to be members
of the Detective Bureau.
(d) Transfer of any member of the police force to duty in
the Detective Bureau shall in no manner affect the rank, sal-
ary, powers or benefits of any member as said member now
holds or is entitled to as a member of the Anne Arundel County
Police Department.
(e) The Detective Bureau shall be under the direct charge
and control of the Chief of Police.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

(House Bill 787)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
26A of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County",
sub-title "Annapolis", as said Section was amended by
Chapter 567 of the Acts of 1943, authorizing the Mayor
and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis to have sidewalks
repaired and to cut grass, trees and weeds bordering on
sidewalks, after notice to the property owner, and to make
the cost of such work a lien against the property and to
provide for a method of enforcing said lien.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 26A of Article 2 of the Code of Public
