thereby superseding and making unnecessary Section 509 of
Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), as amended by Chapter 77 of the Acts of
1933; now therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 509 of Article 21 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Talbot
County", sub-title "State's Attorney", as said section was
amended by Chapter 77 of the Acts of 1933, be and it is hereby
repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
233A of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County", sub-
title "Fire Companies", as said section was amended by
Chapter 453 of the Acts of 1945, providing appropriations
for certain payments to the Stevensville Volunteer Fire De-
partment, Inc.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 233A of Article 18 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's
County", sub-title "Fire Companies", as said section was
amended by Chapter 463 of the Acts of 1945, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
233A. The County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County
are hereby authorized and directed to appropriate annually
the sum of Fifty-five Hundred Dollars ($5,500) for the use and
benefit of the organized fire companies of Queen Anne's County
and to levy on the taxable basis of said county a tax sufficient
to produce said Fifty-five Hundred Dollars ($5,500). The
amount thus levied and appropriated shall be used for the pur-
chase, improvement, maintenance and operation of fire appa-
ratus and fire equipment for the said fire companies and the
said Commissioners shall, on or before the fifteenth day of
