erection of and equipment for a public school building or build-
ings in Somerset County, as it may deem necessary, or for
additions to or modifications of existing public schools in said
county. The plans and specifications for said school building
or buildings or additions of or modifications to existing build-
ings shall be subject to the approval of the State Superin-
tendent of Schools as provided in Section 30 of Article 77 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland and any amendments thereto.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of
paying the interest on such bonds as may be issued under the
provisions of this Act and redeeming them as they mature,
the County Commissioners shall include in the tax levy for
the year after their first issuance and each year thereafter
until they mature and have been redeemed, an amount suffi-
cient to pay the annual interest on the bonds and to redeem
them as they mature.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 417.
(House Bill 626)

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council of
Hurlock to borrow on its full faith and credit a sum or
sums of money not exceeding Thirty Thousand Dollars
($30,000.00) in the aggregate, to evidence said borrowing
by the issuance of its general obligation serial maturity
coupon bonds in like par amount, payable as to principal
and interest from the proceeds of ad valorem taxes levied
without limitation as to rate or amount on all assessable
property in said municipality, notwithstanding any other
statutory tax limitation, and to use the money so borrowed
for the purpose of constructing a combined fire engine house
and City Hall in said municipality; provided, however, that
the authority hereby conferred shall be subject to approval
by a majority of the qualified voters of Hurlock voting
at a special referendum called for that purpose.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That in order to enable the Mayor and Council of Hur-
lock (a municipal corporation of the State of Maryland, here-
