CHAPTER 407.
(House Bill 595)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
196 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's
County", sub-title "Cheverly", to provide for the appoint-
ment of a Town Clerk and Treasurer, a Police Officer or
Officers and a Health Officer or Officers, and to provide for
the manner of their appointment, the term of their office
and the qualifications therefor.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 196 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County (1943 Edition), being Article 17 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, be and the same
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
196. There shall be appointed by a majority vote of the
Mayor and Town Council, at their first regular meeting after
each annual election, or as soon thereafter as possible, a Town
Clerk and Treasurer, a Police Officer or Officers and a Health
Officer or Officers, who may, at the pleasure of the majority
of the Mayor and Town Council, be removed from office and
their successor or successors appointed, and who shall, in
each case, be qualified voters in the elections of said town,
and shall qualify by taking the same oath as the Mayor.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
208 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's
County", sub-title "Cheverly", to provide for levying of a
tax, to establish the tax year, to provide for a maximum
limitation upon said tax, to establish the lien for said taxes
and to provide for interest and penalties upon such taxes
as may become delinquent.
