118. The Circuit Court of Washington County is hereby
authorized and empowered to appoint three bailiffs to
said court, two to be door or gatekeepers and one to be
designated by said court to have charge of the library,
said bailiffs to be in regular attendance upon the court,
to be under its control and supervision and each to receive
the sum of $5.00 per day for each day he may be
employed as such. Upon a certificate from the Clerk of
the Circuit Court for said county of the number of days
each of them has attended, the collector of taxes for said
county shall pay the amounts thereof in the same manner
that jurors are paid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more to issue certificates of indebtedness of said cor-
poration to an amount not exceeding Six Million Dollars
($6,000,000.00), the proceeds of the same to be expended
for the acquisition, by purchase or condemnation, of
land or property in the City of Baltimore and/or in
any county or counties in the State of Maryland for
airport purposes, and for establishing, constructing
and/or equipping an airport or airports on said land
or property, or on any land or property now or hereafter
owned or controlled by the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore, for public purposes, and for doing any
and all things necessary in connection therewith or
pertaining thereto; and to authorize said municipality
to submit an ordinance or ordinances for said purpose
to the legal voters of Baltimore City.
WHEREAS, by Chapter 10 of the Laws of Maryland of
1944 (Extraordinary Session), the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Baltimore was authorized to issue its certificates of
indebtedness to an amount not exceeding Six Million
Dollars ($6,000,000.00) and expend the proceeds of the
same for the purpose of acquiring land and establishing
and equipping an airport or airports thereon for public
purposes; and
