CHAPTER 331.
(House Bill 132)
AN ACT to repeal SectiQns 129 and 130 of Article 77 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 10. Text Books
and School Supplies", relating to money received from the
State for the purchase of text books and school supplies.
WHEREAS, State aid to schools is no longer based on money
spent for text books and school supplies, thereby making
these sections unnecessary; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 129 and 130 of Article 77 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Public Educa-
tion", sub-title "Chapter 10. Text Books and School Sup-
plies", be and they are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 332.
(House Bill 133)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-sec-
tion 1 of Section 142 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Public Education",
sub-title "Chapter 11. County Superintendent of Schools",
as said sub-section was amended by Chapter 541 of the
Acts of 1945, to increase the number and salaries of super-
vising teachers or helping teachers.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section 1 of Section 142 of Article 77 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Pub-
lic Education", sub-title "Chapter 11. County Superinten-
dent of Schools", as said sub-section was amended by Chapter
541 of the Acts of 1945, be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
142. (1) In each county employing fewer than thirty (30)
teachers in the white schools there shall be appointed one
