SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage. Notwithstanding the taking
effect of this Act, it is hereby declared to be the legislative
intent that all taxes imposed by Section 230 of Article 81 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title
"Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "Income Tax", as said section
was amended by Chapter 795 of the Acts of 1945, shall continue
to accrue to and including December 31, 1946, in accordance
with the provisions of said section, all to the same extent as
though this Act had not been adopted, and thereafter, in each
case this Act shall apply.

CHAPTER 296.
(Senate Bill 432)

AN ACT to add one new Section to Article 27 of the Code
of Public General Laws of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", sub-title, "Sabbath Break-
ing", said new section to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 576A of said Article and to be designated as Section
576B, to authorize the exhibition of motion pictures
within the corporate limits of the Town of Sykesville,
Carroll County, between the hours of 2 P. M. and 7 P. M.
and after 9 P. M. on Sundays; to repeal all Public Gen-
eral and Public Local Laws inconsistent therewith to
the extent of such inconsistency and to provide for a
referendum vote thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That one new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 27 of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments",
sub-title "Sabbath Breaking", said new section to follow
immediately after 576A of said Article, and to be desig-
nated as 57GB, and to read as follows:

576B. Nothing contained in Sections 560 or 576 of this
Article shall be construed to prohibit or make unlawful the
exhibition within the corporate limits of the Town of
Sykesville in Carroll County of motion pictures between the
hours of 2 P. M. and 7 P. M. and after 9 P. M. on the first
day of the week, commonly called Sunday, whether the
same be exhibited with or without a charge or admission
