AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, paragraph
B of Section 5 of Article 2B of the 1943 Supplement to
the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Alcoholic Bever-
ages", sub-title "Beer and Light Wine Licenses", relating
to the fees and general requirements for Class B "On sale",
Beer and Light Wine Licenses, and increasing the fees
for such licenses in Baltimore County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That paragraph B of Section 5 of Article 2B of the
1943 Supplement to the Annotated Code of Maryland, title
"Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title ''Beer and Light Wine Li-
censes", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

B. (Beer and Light Wine Licenses, Class B. (On Sale) —
Hotels and Restaurants.) Such a license shall be issued by
the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the County in which the
place of business is located, or by the Clerk of the Court of
Common Pleas of Baltimore City, if the place of business is
located in said City, and shall authorize the holder thereof
to keep for sale and sell beer and light wines at retail
at any hotel or restaurant, at the place therein described,
for consumption on the premises or elsewhere. The annual
fee for such a license shall be Sixty Dollars ($60.00), except
in Wicomico County where the fee shall be Fifty Dollars
($50.00), and in Baltimore County where the fee shall be
One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), and shall be payable to said
Clerk, before any such license is issued, for distribution as
hereinafter provided.
This section shall not apply to Allegany, Anne Arundel,
Calvert, Caroline, Dorchester, Frederick, Garrett, Harford,
Howard, Kent, Queen Anne's, St. Mary's, Somerset and Tal-
bot Counties.
The hours during which the privileges conferred by such
a license may be exercised shall be from 6 A. M. to 12
o'clock midnight except in Baltimore City and Baltimore
and Washington Counties where the hours shall be from 6
A. M. until 2 A. M. on the day following and except in Prince
George's County where the closing hours shall not apply,
but the holder of such license shall not be permitted to make
any sale on the day of any general, special or primary elec-
tion.
