Chapter 456 of the Acts of 1943, relating to the salaries
of the Clerk to the County Commissioners and the Dep-
uty Treasurer of Somerset County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 33 and 365 of Article 20 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Som-
erset County", sub-titles "County Commissioners", and
"Revenue and Taxes", as said Section 365 was amended
by Chapter 456 of the Acts of 1943, be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

33. The County Commissioners of Somerset County
are hereby authorized to appoint a clerk to their board,
whose term of office shall be two years from the first day
of July after his appointment and qualification, unless
sooner removed by death, resignation or for incompetency,
or other disqualification for the office, in which case the
said board shall have power to fill such vacancy for the
period of his unexpired term. His salary shall be Fifteen
Hundred Dollars ($1,500) ; and before entering upon
his official duties, he shall take and subscribe the following
oath or affirmation before one of the County Commission-
ers, either of whom is hereby authorized to administer
the same: "I do swear or affirm solemnly that as clerk to
the County Commissioners, I will honestly and faithfully,
to the best of my skill and judgment, execute the duties
pertaining to the office which I am about to assume, with-
out favor, partiality or prejudice, so help me God."

365. The Treasurer shall appoint a deputy, who shall
perform such duties as the said Treasurer may require,
and for whose official conduct said Treasurer shall be
responsible, and who shall act for said Treasurer during
the Treasurer's absence, and the salary of the said deputy
shall be Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000) and paid by the
County Commissioners of said Somerset County, on a
monthly basis.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.
